Big games from Grizzle and Delancy not enough in Florida A&M's 79-60 loss to Jackson State

TALLAHASSEE, FL --Ahriahna Grizzle totaled 29 points and Olivia Delancy added 20, but the Florida A&M women's basketball team fell to the Jackson State Tigers 79-60 at home Monday.

The Rattlers (4-14, 3-4) had three players score in double figures, led by Grizzle, who had 29 points and three steals. Delancy added 20 points and six rebounds and Ivet Subirats chipped in as well with 11 points and four assists.

How It Happened

Florida A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 22-17 at the end of the first quarter.

Florida A&M then cut the Tigers lead to 23-22 before going on a 5-0 run, highlighted by a three from Delancy, to take a 27-23 lead. The Tigers cut into that lead, but the Rattlers still enjoyed a 34-33 advantage heading into halftime. Florida A&M forced six Jackson State turnovers in the period and turned them into eight points.

Florida A&M then lost its advantage in the third quarter and trailed the Tigers 56-50 entering the fourth.

Florida A&M could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 79-60.
