Rattlers Secure 3-0 Sweep Against Mississippi Valley State

Florida A&M collected another SWAC sweep in a 25-14, 25-16, 25-14 decision over Mississippi Valley State.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The Florida A&M volleyball team collected its third straight-set victory of the season in a 25-14, 25-16, 25-14 decision over Mississippi Valley State Saturday (Sept. 30). Isis Williams finished with a season-high, team-high 10 kills, highlighted by a hitting percentage of .643. Sydney Humes added a season-high 10 digs to lead FAMU's defense.

How It Happened

SET ONE | Isis Williams, the Rattlers' leader in blocks, flexed her offensive prowess with two early kills, and the points helped FAMU to a 6-0 advantage. The home side never relinquished its edge en route to an 11-point difference at the set's end. 

SET TWO | The Rattlers completely switched up their starting lineup in the second set with the addition of London Hatch, Kaila Todd, Autumn Hamilton, Emerald Jacobs, and Jasmine Robinson. The group maintained pressure for a .323 hitting percentage and 14 kills. 

SET THREE | Mississippi Valley State recorded the first point of the final frame, but back-to-back service aces by Robinson pushed FAMU up, 3-1. The teams traded leads on the next few possessions before a 10-1 Rattler run provided space. They were up 14-7 by the end of the stretch.
