BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Emerald Jacobs and Brooke Lynn Watts each registered double-doubles in the Florida A&M volleyball team's 3-2 heartbreaker versus UAB (19-25, 25-20, 25-21, 23-25, 14-16) Sunday (August 27).
The non-conference loss dropped Florida A&M to 0-3 on the season.
The Rattlers were led by double-doubles from both Jacobs, who had 13 kills and 19 digs, and Watts, who had 17 kills and 15 digs. Iyonnie Sanford also added 10 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Brooke Hudson chipped in with 25 digs to go with eight blocks from Sanford.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Rattlers found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-19. Florida A&M trailed by as many as eight points as UAB grabbed the advantage for good at 12-11 in a set that was tied up nine times before the Blazers took control.
SET 2 | Florida A&M evened the match at 1-1 after a 25-20 victory in set two. The Rattlers took control of the set lead early on at 2-1 and never trailed. Florida A&M led by as many as five points at 20-15 before closing out the set, collecting 16 kills while only notching one attack error in the process.
SET 3 | Florida A&M won again in set three to make it a 2-1 match. The Rattlers jumped out to an early 5-4 edge and held the lead the rest of the way to win 25-21. Florida A&M led by five points at 16-11 before closing out the stanza. Florida A&M's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five UAB attacks in the stanza.
SET 4 | Florida A&M couldn't keep the win streak alive, as the Blazers forced a fifth set with a 25-23 fourth-set win. The Rattlers dropped a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured three lead changes and was tied 10 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way.
SET 5 | The Rattlers led by as many as five points, possessing an early 8-3 advantage, but a furious UAB rally cemented its 16-14 success.
Florida A&M returns to action in the two-day Jacksonville Tournament (Sept. 1-2) hosted by Jacksonville University. Its scheduled to meet The Citadel, Northern Arizona, and JU.
