TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida A&M baseball prepares to face a familiar opponent in the Gainesville bracket of the NCAA tournament. The Rattlers will open up the tournament against the Florida Gators tomorrow. This marks the third time in program history the Rattlers have made it to the NCAA Tournament, all three times under Coach Jamey Shouppe.

The Rattlers lost to Florida 17-7 on April 18 in Gainesville. FAMU is 1-29 all-time against the Gators. The Rattlers' one win versus the Gators was in 2014, as Coach Shouppe led the Rattlers to a 4-3 victory.

Sebastian Greico and Ty Hanchey each racked up two extra-base hits to help propel the Florida A&M Rattlers past the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 9-6 last Sunday to clinch the SWAC title. Hunter Viets (7-1) started on the mound and picked up the win for the Rattlers. The right-hander went 7.2 innings, giving up five runs, all of them earned, on 12 hits, allowing two walks, and striking out five.
