A Florida Classic for the SWAC Championship, Rattlers to Face Wildcats Sunday Afternoon

ATLANTA, Ga. –– The SWAC Championship is set and will feature two Florida rivals. Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman will face off in the SWAC title game Sunday afternoon. The Rattlers are searching for their first SWAC title since joining the Conference in 2021.

Season Series

The Rattlers went 2-4 against the Wildcats during the regular season.

Last Outing

The Rattlers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed from there on the way to an 8-4 win over the Alabama State Hornets on Saturday in the SWAC Semifinals. Tre Simmons went six innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on eight hits, allowing four walks, and striking out two. At the plate, the Rattlers were paced by Jared Weber, who went 2-for-5 on the day with a double, a home run, and two RBI. Janmikell Bastardo also compiled an extraordinary effort, going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Will Brown also helped out for Florida A&M, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding a double and a walk.
