TALLAHASSEE, FL --Four Florida A&M players recorded multiple hits, but the Rattlers fell to the Alabama State Hornets 11-5 Friday.
Sophomore Caleb Granger (6-4) got the ball to start for Florida A&M (24-26, ) and took the loss.
Sophomore Will Brown led the hit barrage for the Rattlers, going 3-for-4 in the ballgame. Sophomore Jalen Niles put together a standout effort as well, going 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 7-0, the Rattlers first put runs on the board in the fifth inning.
The Rattlers kept the deficit at 7-3 before closing the gap further in the sixth. Freshman Joseph Pierini's run-scoring single highlighted an inning where Florida A&M scored twice, which brought the score to 7-5 in favor of the Hornets. The Rattlers were unable to get any closer, as Alabama State added four runs to their tally on the way to an 11-5 final.
