Florida A&M Rattlers rallies to secure 5-4 walk-off win against Alabama State in 14 innings

TALLAHASSEE, FL --The Florida A&M Rattlers fought back from tied 3-3 in the eighth inning to win in exciting fashion, rallying to earn a 5-4 walk-off victory in the 14th inning over the Alabama State Hornets Friday.

Senior Zach Morea (4-2) got the win out of the bullpen for Florida A&M (24-25, ). The right-hander went 0.2 shutout innings, giving up one hit, two walks and striking out one. Junior Grant Harrison also pitched well, going 5.2 innings, surrendering one run on three hits, walking five and striking out five.

Junior Sebastian Greico led the way offensively for the Rattlers, going 3-for-7 in the ballgame with a home run and three RBI. Senior Griffin Long put together a standout performance at the dish as well, going 4-for-4 with an RBI. Sophomore Jalen Niles also chipped in, going 2-for-5 for Florida A&M with two doubles.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Rattlers were trailing 2-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Florida A&M scored twice, with one run coming across on Long's single.

The Hornets then scored one run to retake their advantage heading into the seventh inning, when the Rattlers responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. Senior Jared Weber came across to score the lone run of the inning for Florida A&M, which brought the score level at 3-3.

Alabama State then broke the tied and took a 4-3 lead before Florida A&M scored two runs in the bottom half of the fourteenth to grab the win, walking it off on Greico's one-out two-run home run off of freshman Luis Rodriguez.
