TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida A&M men's basketball team got a 21-point performance from the bench, but fell 69-58 to the Jackson State Tigers at home Saturday.
The Rattlers (5-18, 3-9) had four players score in double figures, led by Byron Smith, who had 15 points. Jaylen Bates added a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds and Jordan Tillmon chipped in as well with 13 points.
Florida A&M did a great job disrupting Jackson State shots in the contest, coming away with six blocks. Tarig Eisa led the way individually for the Rattlers with two rejections.

Florida A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 34-19 heading into halftime.
Florida A&M came out of halftime clicking on all cylinders, going on an 8-0 run, finished off by Bates' three, to shrink the deficit to 34-27 with 18:41 to go in the contest. Jackson State responded and outscored the Rattlers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 69-58. Florida A&M capitalized on five Jackson State turnovers in the period, collecting 11 points off those turnovers.
