ANN ARBOR, MI --The Florida A&M offense put on a ball-movement clinic on the road Friday, recording 9 assists on 12 made shots, but the Rattlers fell to the Michigan Wolverines 77-35.
Peryonna Sylvester led the Rattlers (1-9) with 13 points and three steals. Olivia Delancy added six points off of the bench and Nashani Gilbert chipped in as well with five points and two steals.
Florida A&M forced 21 Michigan turnovers. The Rattlers turned those takeaways into nine points on the other end of the floor. Sylvester's three steals led the way for Florida A&M.
How It Happened
Florida A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 21-12 at the end of the first quarter.
The Rattlers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 43-15 halftime deficit.
Florida A&M's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Rattlers faced a 61-21 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Florida A&M played well near the basket, scoring four of its six points in the paint.
Florida A&M could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 77-35. Florida A&M fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down three shots to account for nine of its 14 points.
