JACKSON, Miss. | The Florida A&M volleyball team (15-13, 11-4 SWAC) posted its fifth consecutive straight-set victory in a 25-20, 25-22, 25-22 decision at Jackson State on Sunday (Nov. 5); the final set also captured school history. A year ago, Brooke Hudson became FAMU's single-season leader in digs (553). In the third set, she broke her own record. The reigning Southwestern Athletic Conference Libero of the Year manages 558 digs this season.
The Rattlerettes attack was paced by Emerald Jacobs, who finished with 11 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .333, and by Isis Williams, who had 11 while hitting .529. got 17 digs from Brooke Hudson along with six blocks from Williams to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET ONE | Emerald Jacobs notched the first kill and point of what became a high-action set. The score was locked 10 times, the final at 17-17, before the Rattlers rattled off six straight points. They crowned the set with a .414 hitting percentage.
SET TWO | In another back-and-forth frame, FAMU tallied six of the final eight points to claim the 25-22 win. Neither side led by more than four points; the last tie was at 21-all.
SET THREE | FAMU held an early 3-1 lead but couldn't sustain it as a 6-1 run helped the home side to a long-lasting advantage. Three straight kills -- two by Jacobs and one by Jasmine Robinson -- narrowed Florida A&M's deficit to 18-16, and an Iyonnie Sanford kill earned the Rattlers their first lead (21-20) since the early goings. FAMU maintained their edge the rest of the way.
