PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | The No. 2 Florida A&M volleyball team advanced to the second round of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament Friday (Nov. 7) with a 3-0 victory (25-17, 25-16, 25-22) over No. 6 Grambling State. The Rattlers were led by a double-double from Emerald Jacobs, who registered 10 kills and 10 digs. Iyonnie Sanford also added 10 kills.
The Rattlers will continue their appearance in the SWAC Tournament in a Saturday semifinal versus No. 2 Prairie View A&M. Match time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

SET ONE | The Rattlers' 8-0 advantage to start the opening set captured three kills, a block, and three service aces. They maintained their lead the entire way, despite Grambling State pulling within four, 13-17, by way of a 6-1 rally. Iyonnie Sanford finished the frame with five kills, while Camila De La Rosa added five service aces.
SET TWO | The second set operated similarly to the first, with FAMU jumping out to an early 8-3 lead. The No. 3 seed saw its lead slimmed to one, 10-9, on a 6-2 GSU run, but Emerald Jacobs ended the stretch with three straight kills. Florida A&M held its largest advantage at 18-10.
SET THREE | The Rattlers took control of the set early when the score was 3-2 and never trailed to win 25-22. Florida A&M led by as many as seven points at 22-15. The team's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking six Grambling attacks.
