Rattlers in Baton Rouge looking to win 11th straight SWAC game

BATON, ROUGE, La. –– Florida A&M football travels to Baton Rouge on a ten-game SWAC winning streak and a three-game winning streak versus the Jaguars as they look to keep their streak going.

FLORIDA A&M RATTLERS
The Rattlers come into Saturday with one of the best defenses in the nation as they're ranked top 35 in ten different defensive categories, including number one in tackles for loss, averaging 10.4 tackles for loss per game. The Dark Cloud Defense also ranked in the top ten in 3rd down defense (8th), scoring defense (8th), total defense (7th), rushing defense (5th), and defensive touchdowns (1st). The Rattlers also possess some of the best defensive players in the nation in Isaiah Major and Anthony Dunn Jr. Major currently ranks 16th in the nation in solo tackles per game (5.8) as Dunn Jr. ranks 11th in sacks per game (1.10) and 9th in tackles for loss per game (1.8). Major and Gentle Hunt also rank 25th in tackles for loss per game (1.4).
 
Offensively, the Rattlers have one of the best passing attacks in the nation, ranked 19th in the nation, averaging 260 passing yards per game. Quarterback Jeremy Moussa comes into the game ranked 11th in the nation in both passing yards (1,244) and passing touchdowns (10). The Rattlers also possess some of the top scorers, as Riley ranks 29th in receiving touchdowns (4), and Terrell Jennings ranks 35th in rushing touchdowns (4).
 
On special teams, the Rattlers have two of the best returners in the nation as Jah'Marae Sheread ranks 2nd in yards per punt return (23) and Marcus Riley 7th in yards per kick return (30.4). 
 
SOUTHERN JAGUARS
The Jaguars come into the game on a two-game winning streak, winning back-to-back SWAC games versus Alabama A&M and Arkansas-Pine Bluff after losing the first two non-conference games at Alabama State and versus Jackson State.
 
Like the Rattlers, the Jaguars possess one of the best defenses in the nation as they're ranked top 35 in 12 different defensive categories, including top ten rankings in total defense (9th), sacks (7th), scoring defense (5th), tackles for loss (3rd) fumbles recovered (3rd), and red zone defense (2nd). The Jaguars also possess one of the best defensive players in the nation in Ckelby Givens, as he's 2nd in tackles for loss per game (2.5) and 8th in sacks per game (1.25). The Jaguars also possess one of the nation's top tacklers in Jalen Campbell, as he's ranked 21st in the nation, averaging 9.8 tackles per game.
 
Offensively, the Jaguars' strength is the passing attack, averaging 242.2 passing yards per game (32nd in nation), but struggle running the ball, averaging 103.8 rushing yards per game (99th in nation).
