TALLAHASSEE, FL --The Florida A&M men's basketball team got a 32-point performance from the bench, but fell 67-54 to the UAPB Golden Lions at home Saturday.
The Rattlers (2-13, 0-4) had two players score in double figures, led by Jordan Chatman, who had 15 points. Jordan Tillmon tacked on 11 points and four assists off the bench and Chase Barrs added six points and two blocks.
How It Happened
After falling behind 22-17, Florida A&M went on a 5-0 run with 6:43 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Dimingus Stevens, to tie the game at 22. UAPB then pulled ahead, sending the Rattlers into halftime down 32-26.
UAPB kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 58-48 advantage before Florida A&M went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Tillmon's three, to shrink the deficit to 58-53 with 5:28 to go in the contest. UAPB responded and outscored the Rattlers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 67-54. Florida A&M got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 17 of its 28 total points.
