Itta Bena, MS. | Florida A&M baseball (21-23, 15-6 SWAC) defeated Mississippi Valley State 11-6 Sunday Afternoon at Magnolia Field. The Rattlers sweep the series sweeping the Delta Devils for the second time this season.
Mississippi Valley State was the better team in the hit column (13-9) and was out-hitting the Rattlers by a count of 10-2 at one point, but 11 walks allowed plus no runs scored by the Delta Devils after the third frame allowed the Rattlers to escape with an 11-6 victory. Despite the slow start, the Rattlers got key hits from Jared Weber in the seventh inning, hitting a solo shot to left field to tie the game 6-6 and an RBI double to give the Rattlers a 9-6 advantage.
The Rattlers are back in action Wednesday on the road at Jacksonville University at 5 p.m.
