Rattlers Sweep Rivals to Win 21st Consecutive SWAC Match

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Florida A&M volleyball (12-11) swept the Wildcats for the second time this season. The team is now 9-0 in its Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule and working 21 straight wins over league opponents. 

Dominique Washington led the Rattlers with 16 kills, and newcomer Aja Jones added ten kills with a hitting percentage of .716. SWAC Setter of the Week Irem Ucar added 40 assists, and Brooke Lynn Watts led the Rattlers with 17 digs.

FAMU 3, BCU 0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-16)

The Rattlers dominated from the jump, outhitting the Wildcats .278 to -.179 in the first set and only allowed two kills from the Wildcats. The Wildcats made the Rattlers fight for the second set after taking a 15-11 lead, but the Rattlers outscored the Wildcats 14-6 to win set two. In the final set, the Rattlers fell 4-3, but that would be their only time trailing, winning 25-16.

The Rattlers have swept eight matches this season and look to extend their win streak in the second SWAC Cluster next week in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
