Jacksonville, Fla. | Florida A&M was only able to hammer two hits as the Rattlers dropped its final game of the JU/UNF Spring Break Challenge with a 9-1 loss, in five innings, to Buffalo.
FAMU pitcher
Brandice Boatwright (0-4) allowed nine runs (seven earned) on nine hits with two walks in 5.0 innings of work.
Kaylin Rhone went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and one run scored.
Destiny Cuevas picked up the other hit for the Rattlers, going 1-for-2 with stolen base as well.
FAMU scored its lone run of the game in the bottom of the first inning, when Rhone singled to rightfield, then worked her way into scoring position by swiping second. Rhone advanced the third on a groundball and scored on a pass by to cut the early Buffalo lead to 3-1.
The Bulls went on to put the game away, scoring six runs in the final three innings.
The winning pitcher was Ally Sobaszek (1-5). She gave up one run on two hits with four strikeouts.
