Rattlers Strike for Senior Day Win

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The Florida A&M volleyball team closed out its regular-season home slate in the best way possible - a 3-0, Senior Day victory. It was an exciting match from start to finish, and the pregame celebration likely set the tone, as FAMU celebrated Kalen Blathers, Jessa Long, Radka Dimitrova, and Alexys Mann prior to the sweeping success over Bethune-Cookman on Friday (Nov. 5).

The home team immediately went into game mode with a 25-4 dub in set one, and the score marked a season's best for the fewest points allowed in a single set this year. The ensuing frames went down 25-14 and 25-21, respectively.

To say the Rattlers put forth an explosive performance would be the understatement of the season.

All four seniors made an appearance in the match. Blathers recorded a service ace seconds after touching the court for the first time while Mann tabbed five kills and a pair of digs. It was also business as usual for Long, the Southwestern Athletic Conference leader in digs, who recorded a game-high 14 on the night.

Dominique Washington posted yet another double-double on 19 kills and 10 digs.

With the decision, the Rattlers (20-6, 12-2) now have their first 20-win season since 2006, where they went 21-7.
