Football /Competition Cheer Team
Individuals that try-out and make the Football/Competition team will cheer at all home football games, designated away football games and designated cheer competitions. The Football/Competition Cheer Team will also attend NCA Cheer Camp over the summer and compete at NCA Cheerleading Nationals in April. Both the Football/Competition Cheer Team and Basketball Cheer Team teams will be utilized for appearances, community service activities, and special events.

**MANDATORY CHEERLEADING DATES/GAMES: July 1, 2020 – August 9, 2020; ALL HOME AND AWAY FOOTBALL GAMES; ENTIRE MONTH OF NOVEMBER
**If you will NOT be available for ALL of the mandatory dates above, we ask that you DO NOT try out for FAMU CHEER. Any cheerleader who makes the team and is not available during the mandatory dates WILL BE DISMISSED FROM THE TEAM.
Requirements - Football/Competition
- STANDING TUMBLING REQUIREMENT – Standing tuck
- RUNNING TUMBLING REQUIREMENT – Round off backhand Tuck
- STUNTING– FLYERS – Switch Up, Full Up, Advanced body positions, full down, double downs
- STUNTING – BASES/BACKSPOTS – Experience basing switch ups, full ups
This year Florida A&M University Cheer program will conduct a VIDEO TRYOUT ONLY for Football/ Competition for the 2020 – 2021 cheerleading season.
Due to the current COVID pandemic, social distancing is being enforced. We find it important to abide by the social distancing order and hope that you too are taking the proper precautions to keep yourself and family safe.
To help with those precautions, the coaching staff has decided to put a hold on the required stunting segment for our 2020-2021 Video Try-out Process. The tryout process will consist of two rounds.
Round 1- Each individual will be judged based on their performance of the material (cheer, dance, 2-8 counts) that will be provided after making your EventBrite purchase, along with standing and running tumbling. After all videos are reviewed, each participant will receive an email informing them of advancement or no advancement to the second-round no later than May 11, 2020 5pm.
Round 2- Stunting segment only. The deadline for the stunting video submission will be included in the first-round advancement email. Final cuts will be made after the review of all second-round videos. Each participant will be notified by email if they have or have not gained a place on the 2020-2021 FAMU Cheerleading Team within 10 business days of the video submission deadline.

**After you have registered using Eventbrite, send email confirmation to famu.cheerleading@gmail.com. In the subject area please list first name, last name FBC VIDEOINFO. (EX. Jane Doe FBC VIDEOINFO). After sending email confirmation, you will receive a separate email, no later than 2 business days, which will include further video submission instructions.
