BATON ROUGE, La. | The Florida A&M University softball team wrapped up its opening with a pair of losses on Sunday to conclude play at the Tiger Classic, hosted by LSU, at Tiger Park.
The Lady Rattlers (0-4) dropped the opening game, 6-2, to 13th-ranked Oklahoma State and ended the day with a 16-0 loss to No. 11 LSU.
How It Happened – Game 1
After a scoreless first inning, Oklahoma State struck for six runs on four hits In the second to grab an early 6-0 lead.
Florida A&M cut the deficit to 6-1 with a run in the top of the third inning.
With one down in the frame,
Jamesia Stoudemire homered to left to give FAMU its first run of the season and close the gap to five runs.
The Lady Rattlers got another run back in the fifth when Stoudemire, who reached on a leadoff single, came across to score on a
Melkayla Irvis infield hit, cut the deficit to 6-2.
However, that would be as close as FAMU would get as Oklahoma State held on for the 6-2 victory

How It Happened – Game 2
In the second game, LSU scored 15 runs on nine hits and took advantage of a pair of FAMU errors to grab a 15-0 advantage.
The Tigers added one more run in the third before cruising to the 16-0 victory.

> Ali Kilponen (1-0) earned the win, with five strikeouts in 3.0 innings pitched
> Taylor Edwards and Victoria Abrams worked one inning each in relief
