ATLANTA, Ga. (Sept. 20) - The Bank of America Atlanta
Football Classic will feature the Florida A&M Rattlers and the Southern
University Jaguars. The new
matchup in the game is guaranteed to bring back the excitement to the classic.
Regina Battle, FAMU's ticket manager, is pleased with the
obvious attention FAMU faithful are paying to the game. "Tickets are moving at
a steady pace, but tickets are also still available," Battle said. " We are
ahead of where we were last year at this time. Our students seem to be excited, because the student tickets
for the lower level have all been sold.
The remaining student tickets are on the 300 level," she added.
FAMU and Southern enjoy a rich heritage of competition. Dating back to the glory years of Jake
Gaither and A.W. Mumford. Gaither
was FAMU's legendary coach, while the stadium where the Jaguars play is named
after Mumford. Overall, the
Rattlers hold a 32-25-1 edge in the lifetime series.
The last time the Rattlers and Jaguars tangled, was in Baton
Rouge in 2008. The Rattlers would
take the shootout 52-49.
What would HBCU football be without the bands. The McDonalds halftime will feature the
"Human Jukebox" of Southern University against the Marching "100" of FAMU. Known traditionally as two of the best
bands in college football, halftime is sure to be exciting
Few remaining yard line tickets are available for $40 each.
For $30, you can sit in the lower level end zone and mezzanine level There are $10 seats available in the
300 level of the end zone.
