NORFOLK, Va (Oct 24) - FAMU freshman quarterback Damien Fleming was named MEAC co-Rookie of
the Week, for his stellar performance Satruday, against the South Carolina
State Bulldogs in Orangeburg.
Fleming (QB, 6-3, 181, Fr., Jacksonville, Fla.) connected
on 34-of-40 (.85 completion rate) passes for 297 yards with one touchdown in
the Rattlers' 27-24 victory over South Carolina State. Fleming's
connection percentage (85%) was the fourth best in school history. The
victory snapped an eight-game losing skid for the Rattler's who handed SCSU
its' first home loss this season.
Fleming connected with eight different receivers during the
game. That dispersion was a result
of his maturity to take what was given to him, as opposed to locking in on any
one receiver.

Shelly Anthony (FAMU) graded out at 94-percent and was a
part of the offensive unit that racked up 439 yards of total offense against
South Carolina State.
