Jarrett Stephens

Jarrett M. Stephens was named the assistant men’s basketball coach at Florida A&M University in August 2017.

Stephens, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, came to FAMU after coaching at the IMG Academy where he was the associate head coach of the Varsity National Team (2014-2017). In his final season at IMG Academy, he helped lead them to a record of 28-2 and participated in the Dick’s National Championship

Prior to IMG, Stephens had various coaching roles including working as the assistant men's basketball coach at Indian River State College (2012-2014), the associate head coach at his alma mater LeMoyne-Owen College (2009-2010), and as an assistant coach men's basketball coach at Clark Atlanta University (2008-2009).

Stephens also worked USA Basketball in 2005 as a youth development basketball coach. Throughout his career, he has trained 30+ NBA players and 40+ professional international players. These players include Jalen Rose, Amar’e Stoudemire, Rodney Hood, Thaddeus Young, Moe Harkless, Cameron Payne, Skal Labissiere, and Jonathan Isaac.

Stephens received a bachelor’s degree in political science and government at LeMoyne-Owen College in 2000. He was also a member of the men's basketball team. Stephens has two children, Jarrett and Camryn and is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
