Peterson Sr. enjoyed a 14-year NFL career with the Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Atlanta Falcons, earning Second-Team All-Pro honors before returning to the University of Florida as the football program's Director of Alumni Relations…the Peterson football legacy also includes Mike Jr.'s uncle, Adrian Peterson, a Georgia Southern legend who helped lead the Eagles to two NCAA Division I-AA National Championships and captured the 1999 Walter Payton Award as the nation's top FCS offensive player. Adrian later played seven seasons with the Chicago Bears before returning to Georgia Southern University to serve in athletics administration.
