Brandon Sharp joined the Florida A&M staff in 2018, serving as defensive backs coach. Sharp was promoted to co-defensive coordinator in 2021. 
 
Sharp helped architect one of the best safety units in all of college football, spearheaded by 2021 Athlon Preseason All-America, Markquese Bell. Under Sharp’s tutelage, Bell had Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) leading five interceptions. 

Sharp came to FAMU after serving as the passing game coordinator, safeties and cornerbacks coach at the Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) from 2015-2017.

Prior to his stint at PVAMU, Sharp spent a season at Henderson State University as the outside linebackers coach. From 2012 to 2014, he was defensive backs coach the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Sharp also spent three seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas. There he assisted the defensive coordinator, specifically working with the defensive backs, also assisted in offensive formations. His coaching experience has resulted in participation in some impressive contests including the Cotton Bowl (2012), Sugar Bowl (2011) and Liberty Bowl Championship (2010).

Sharp was signed to the Tennessee Titans of the NFL in 2007 and spent time in mini camps, training camps and made it through three preseason games. In November 2007, he concluded his professional playing finishing the season with the Chicago Bears, after signing during the season to the practice squad.

Sharp earned a bachelor's degree in sport administration from the University of Louisville in 2007. Sharp for was four-year starter for the football team as well. Sharp was awarded the Louisville Defensive Coaches Award (2007), Big East second team All-Conference, Big East Conference Defensive Player of the Week (2006) and University of Louisville Dean’s List (2003).
