JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Rose Muturi led all runners for Florida A&M Women's Cross Country on Friday evening as the Rattlers opened the 2026 season at the Florida Intercollegiate Cross Country Invitational hosted by North Florida at Cecil Field Golf Course in Jacksonville, Florida.

As a team, Florida A&M finished with 330 points in the 5K race.
Â
UCF won the team title with 43 points, followed by North Florida (74) and Florida Atlantic (88).
Â
Rose Muturi led FAMU, crossing the line in 18:58.84 to place 44th overall.
Â
Niya Coleman came across the line as the second-fastest Rattlers performer, finishing 78th in 20:00.93, followed closely by Bree Brooks (20:03.48) and Christina Fitzpatrick (20:04.20), respectively.

Jaade McBride turned in a time of 20:31.00, while teammate Leandra Ferrell crossed at 20:42.29 overall on the evening. Rounding out the weekend performers for the Orange and Green was Nina Story with a mark of 21:23.26.

UCF's Alexandra Raquet was the individual race winner, covering the course in 16:52.88.

Embry-Riddle (107), Miami (117) and Florida Gulf Coast (140) rounded out the top six team finishers, respectfully.

FAMU will next compete at the Willie Laster Cross Country Invitational hosted by Albany State in Albany, Georgia, taking place Friday, September 11.
