HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --The Florida A&M volleyball team earned a 3-0 victory (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) against the Maryland-Eastern Shore Lady Hawks Saturday at Elmore Gymnasium.
The non-conference win improved Florida A&M's overall record to 1-2 on the season.
Sydney Whitfield finished with 11 kills on the day to lead the Rattlers' attack and got nine digs from Kelly Kelsick to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Rattlers won the first point and never looked back to secure the first set 25-18. Florida A&M opened up its biggest lead, seven points, to finish off the set. Florida A&M also supplemented their offense with four aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Florida A&M put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-22 victory in set number two. The Rattlers survived a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied 11 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way. Florida A&M's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Maryland-Eastern Shore attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Florida A&M finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after taking the third set. The Rattlers took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in the set to earn a 25-19 victory. Florida A&M opened up as much as a 12 point lead at 20-8 before closing out the set. The Florida A&M offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
