TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida A&M softball is postseason bound. The Rattlers won the 2026 SWAC Softball Tournament and earned automatic bid. FAMU is joining the Gainesville Regional field as Florida — the No. 6 overall seed and host — Texas State and Georgia Tech round out the four-team bracket.

FAMU will open tournament play on Friday, May 15 at 11 a.m. at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, facing the Gators in a first-round matchup that will put the Rattlers on a national stage from the opening pitch.

The selection marks another milestone moment for the FAMU softball program, which earns the opportunity to compete against one of the premier programs in the country in front of a national audience. 

For the Rattlers, the bid represents validation — a program tested in one of the most competitive environments in college softball arriving on the national stage ready to compete.
