Five Rattlers score in double digits in Florida A&M's 87-83 setback to Bethune-Cookman

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.  -- Five Rattlers scored at least 10 points, but Florida A&M fell to the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 87-83 on the road Saturday.

The Rattlers (3-9, 0-1) had five players score in double figures, led by Jaquan Sanders, who had 22 points. Tyler Shirley tacked on 15 points and Antonio Baker helped out with 13 points.

The Florida A&M offense was strong from downtown, making nine threes on 22 attempts. Shirley hit three treys for the Rattlers in the contest.

How It Happened

Florida A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 48-36 heading into halftime.

Florida A&M narrowed its deficit to 60-50 before going on an 8-0 run to shrink the deficit to 60-58 with 12:17 to go in the contest. Bethune-Cookman responded and outscored the Rattlers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 87-83. Florida A&M got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 13 of its 47 total points.
