GRAND HAVEN, Mich. -- Florida A&M sits in eighth place after the first round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate, but the Rattlers made headlines individually with freshman Sascha Robinson finishing the day tied for the overall lead.

Robinson carded a 2-under round Monday at American Dunes Golf Club, sharing the top spot with Notre Dame's Rocco Salvitti and Baylor's Jonas Appel. The trio holds a one-stroke edge over a pack of four players at 1-under, including Alabama's Jonathan Griz and Michigan State's Lorenzo Pinili.

As a team, Florida A&M posted an 8-over total, good for eighth place in the 14-team field. Alabama and Notre Dame lead the tournament at 1-over, followed by Kansas at 3-over. Grand Valley State is fourth at 5-over, while Florida State and Michigan State share fifth at 6-over. Baylor is seventh at 7-over, one shot ahead of the Rattlers.

Other Florida A&M scores included Miguel Llas and Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul at 2-over (T-24), Taylor Bell at 6-over (T-55), and Emilio Garcia at 7-over (T-60).

The Rattlers will look to build on Robinson's strong performance when play resumes Tuesday in the second round of the 54-hole event, which is being broadcast live on Golf Channel.
