MACON, Ga. (Feb. 9) | The Florida A&M softball team (0-4) concluded its season-opening weekend, collecting a 9-2 loss to the Austin Peay Governors (3-1).Â

The Rattlers managed seven hits in the game. Catcher
Kayla Alexandre collected two hits for the Rattlers.
Jamison Townsend,
Kiauna Watson,
Aniya Canty,
Samantha Smith, and
Brianna Duggins garnered the other five hits with one each.  FAMU couldn't string together the hits in concession, leading to 10 stranded baserunners.

The Governors collected nine hits and were paced by catcher Sam Leski who led all players with three hits. She would score two runs and drive in three including a home run.

FAMU used three pitchers in the contest with three strikeouts and four walks.  Peppers would take the loss, pitching 2.1 innings.  AP also used three pitchers in the outing with Samantha Miener getting the win after pitching the middle 3.2 innings.

The Rattlers will get back into action on Friday against the North Carolina A&T State Aggies in Covington, GA. At 12:00 noon.
