The Florida A&M men's basketball team is headed to one of the most energetic stages in college hoops as the Rattlers prepare to compete in the HBCU Hoops Invitational. The two–day event, held December 5–6 at the iconic ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex within Walt Disney World, brings together historically Black colleges and universities for a weekend of competitive basketball and community celebration.

Opening Matchup: Friday at 5 p.m.

Florida A&M opens play on Friday, December 5, with a noon showdown against Barber-Scotia College. The matchup offers the Rattlers an opportunity to set the tone early in the tournament, especially as they look to assert themselves against a program known for gritty, up-tempo play. Expect the Rattlers to lean on their defensive pressure and transition scoring as they begin their weekend run.

Saturday's Opponent: Florida Memorial or Tuskegee

The second day of the Invitational adds a layer of suspense. On Saturday, December 6, Florida A&M will face either Florida Memorial University or Tuskegee University, depending on the results of Friday's games.

Both potential opponents pose unique challenges:

Florida Memorial brings athleticism and a fast-paced offense that can heat up quickly.
Tuskegee offers a disciplined, physical style of play that tests teams' half-court execution.

No matter who advances, Saturday promises a competitive matchup for the Rattlers as the field looks to close out the Invitational with momentum heading into the heart of the season.

A Showcase of HBCU Spirit

Beyond the on-court action, the HBCU Hoops Invitational provides a platform to highlight tradition, culture, and community pride. With teams, fans, and alumni converging on one of the world's most recognizable sports venues, the event creates a unique atmosphere that blends athletic competition with the celebration of HBCU excellence.

For the Florida A&M Rattlers, the weekend offers not only two meaningful early-season games but also an opportunity to shine on a national stage. As December 5 and 6 approach, anticipation continues to build for what promises to be an exciting showcase of HBCU basketball at Disney World.
