1/17/2025 4:40:00 PM

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida A&M Rattlers (5-10, 2-2 SWAC) look to build on their recent home victory as they continue SWAC play, hosting the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions (2-12, 0-4 SWAC) in hopes of maintaining their momentum.

The Rattlers are riding high after a dominant 88-60 victory over Mississippi Valley State in their last outing. The team was powered by standout performances from Sabou Gueye and Zikeyah Carter, both of whom notched impressive double-doubles to help lead the team. Additionally, the Rattlers' leading scorer, Cheyenne McEvans, delivered another stellar performance, showcasing her offensive prowess and setting the tone for the team. With this trio firing on all cylinders, FAMU will look to carry their momentum into their matchup against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

The Golden Lions enter the matchup looking to improve on both ends of the floor. They are averaging 50.6 points per game while allowing 65.1 points per contest, leaving room for growth in offensive efficiency. D'arrah Allen leads the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game and is the top three-point shooter, hitting 31.6% from beyond the arc with 18 made threes. Janiah Tucker is another leading scorer on the team, averaging 13.1 points per game. Kristyna Boyd contributes 7.8 points per game while anchoring the team on the boards with 5.2 rebounds per contest.

The Rattlers will maintain their momentum by leveraging their strong offensive and defensive play. With key contributors across the roster, FAMU aims to control the tempo, dominate the boards, and capitalize on their opponent's weaknesses to secure another important SWAC victory.

Tip off is set for 4:00 p.m. at the Al Lawson Center.
