Rattlers unveil new putting room for National Champions

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –– The 2024 HBCU National Champions unveil a new putting room ahead of the new school year thanks to donations from the Rattlers-in-Arms and the Plant City Alumni Chapter.

"This is a very transformational project on our campus," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Tiffani-Dawn Sykes. "Special thanks to Mr. Stubbs, Mr. Pickett, Mr. Kinsey, the Plant City Alumni Chapter, and Rattlers-in-Arms for making an investment in this space so our student-athletes can work on their game no matter the weather or time of day."

"I want to thank Mr. Kinsey, Pickett, and Stubbs. I picked up the phone and said, 'Hey, look, this is an idea we have. I think it's huge to have a putting facility.' There's no other HBCU that has this," said Head Coach Mike Rice. "We're trying to be the trendsetters, and I thank you guys, as you have been supporting us for years."

The new putting room features five different holes for the student-athletes to practice, and more technology will be added in the future to enhance the student-athletes experience.
