ATLANTA | The Florida A&M volleyball team battled Saturday (Aug. 31), with two sets going extra points, but the match ultimately ended in favor of Georgia State (28-30, 25-21, 20-25, 24-26).Â

» Isis Williams had a match-high eight blocks; FAMU racked up 16 as a team.Â
» Brookelynn Thomas had a team-high 15 kills, behind a .433 hitting percentage.Â
» Florida A&M received a match-high 18 digs from Bryshanna Brown.
» Florida A&M attackers were helped by a team-high 24 assists from Alexandra Koleva.
SET ONE | An attacking error helped Florida A&M to an 18-15 lead – prior to this, the visitors were working a 5-2 scoring spell. However, momentum slowed after six straight Georgia State points.Â
Still, the set required extra points. Jada Rhodes energized a 6-1 FAMU run, with the Rattlers leading 24-22, but they couldn't hold off a final push from Georgia State, who took the set, 30-28.Â
SET TWO | With the set knotted at 6-all, Brooke Lynn Watts fired off back-to-back aces, and the Rattlers maintained their advantage the rest of the way. Watts crowned the frame with three aces, with the final pushing FAMU ahead, 17-13.Â
SET THREE | Georgia State went ahead for good at 18-17 in a set that was knotted up 11 times.
SET FOUR | The Rattlers dropped a tight set, losing in a stanza that was tied 12 times and had seven lead changes.
The Rattlers will return to Al Lawson Center this Wednesday for mid-week action versus North Florida. Match time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
