TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –– Florida A&M basketball added more length with the addition of forward Shaqir O'Neal, a transfer from Texas Southern.
 
"Shaqir has played in one of the premier programs in our conference and for a great head coach," said head coach Patrick Crarey. "He brings versatility, athleticism, and experience to our team. I'm excited he chose me to help him achieve his goals."
 
O'Neal joins the Rattlers after spending the last three seasons at Texas Southern. O'Neal averaged 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in 8.5 minutes per game in the previous two seasons. O'Neal scored a career-high 12 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds versus North American in 2022. O'Neal scored eight points in the season opener last season at New Mexico. O'Neal also scored six points at Creighton last season.
