Rattlers drops tough 9-3 contest to Bethune-Cookman

TALLAHASSEE, FL --The Florida A&M Rattlers had a tough showing on Saturday, falling to the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 9-3 despite the efforts of senior Adam Haidermota, who went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Freshman Carson Kelly (5-2) started and took the loss on the mound for Florida A&M (23-22, 18-5). Junior Tanner Walker was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 1.2 innings, surrendering one run on one hit.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 2-0, the Rattlers first put runs on the board in the first inning. Florida A&M scored twice on a two-run double off the bat of Haidermota.

The Wildcats then scored five runs to retake their advantage heading into the seventh inning, when the Rattlers responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. Senior Jalen Niles came across to score the lone run of the inning for Florida A&M, which tightened the Wildcats lead to 7-3. The Rattlers were unable to get any closer, as Bethune-Cookman added two runs to their tally on the way to a 9-3 final.
