Peppers' no-hitter powers Florida A&M over Mississippi Valley State 15-0

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Junior Lauryn Peppers turned in a brilliant performance on Thursday, throwing a no-hitter and striking out 10 to lead the Florida A&M Rattlers past the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devilettes 15-0.

Peppers (1-5) added her first win of the season to her outstanding performance. The right-hander struck out 10 and walked two for Florida A&M (21-17, 17-4) on her way to the record books.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Rattlers took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Florida A&M's offense started clicking and put up 10 runs, including a two-run double off the bat of junior Brianna Duggins and a two-run double from sophomore Neriah Lee.

The Rattlers also added runs in the second, fourth, and fifth innings on the way to the 15-0 victory.

» Peppers tossed a no-hitter shutout for the Rattlers for the first time since Ashleigh Minter in 2014.
» Freshman Aniya Canty had three base knocks in the game for Florida A&M.
