TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –– Florida A&M volleyball added more defense to the team with the addition of libero Tinons Galmés from Spain.
"Tinons has all the qualities we are looking for in a libero," said Head Coach Gokhan Yilmaz. "She can serve receive at a high level, plays excellent defense, and has led her teams to successful seasons. She will be a great addition to our talented back row players."
Galmés began her volleyball career in 2018, playing in Shanghai, China, where she was a two-time champion at the International Schools Championship of Shanghai and won one championship at the International Schools Championship of China.
In 2020, Galmés was selected to the U16 Spain national team as the only libero. From 2021-22, Galmés competed in the Western European Volleyball Zonal Association (WEVZA) and was named the best libero in the WEVZA. Galmés also was part of the U18 Spain national team that placed 3rd in WEVZA.
For the last two seasons, Galmés was the starting libero for the U20 Spain national team that won a WEVZA Championship in 2022 and finished second in 2023.
