Florida A&M never trails in 4-1 win against Jackson State

GAME 2 | Florida A&M 4, Jackson State 1

TALLAHASSEE, FL --The Florida A&M Rattlers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and never surrendered the advantage on the way to a 4-1 win against the Jackson State Tigers on Saturday.

Freshman Zoryana Hughes (11-2) got the win for Florida A&M (18-17, 14-4). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up one run on five hits, allowing one walk and striking out seven.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Rattlers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Senior Nyomi Jones came across to score the lone run of the inning for Florida A&M and get them on the board.

The Tigers failed to push any runs across before the Rattlers offense got back to their scoring ways the next inning. which brought the Rattlers lead to 4-0. Jackson State put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Florida A&M still held on for the 4-1 win.
