DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Florida A&M Rattlers lost game one of the day to the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats by the score of 3-1.
Junior Samantha Smith (6-8) got the ball to start for Florida A&M (13-15, 9-2) and took the loss. The right-hander went five innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on four hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rattlers put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the second inning. Senior Nyah Morgan came across to score the lone run of the inning for Florida A&M and get them on the board. The Rattlers were unable to hold the lead, as Bethune-Cookman scored three times over the remaining five innings to grab the 3-1 win.
