TROY, Ala. --Though they had plenty of opportunities, Florida A&M had a hard time cashing them in, leaving 12 Rattlers on base in a 12-2 defeat at the hands of the Troy Trojans on Tuesday.

Senior D. Tease (0-4) started and took the loss on the mound for Florida A&M (9-16). Senior L. Sharpton was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going two shutout innings while allowing one hit, walking one and striking out one.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Rattlers were trailing 4-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Florida A&M plated a run on a based-loaded walk by senior A.Haidermota.

The Rattlers deficit grew to 9-1 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the seventh inning. Senior J. Pierini came across to score the lone run of the inning for Florida A&M, which tightened the Trojans lead to 9-2. The Rattlers were unable to get any closer, as Troy added three runs to their tally on the way to a 12-2 final.
