Samantha Smith has a dominant week, earning SWAC Hitter and Co-Pitcher of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –– Florida A&M's Samantha Smith had a dominant week last week, earning Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Hitter and Co-Pitcher of the Week.

Smith was the Rattlers' best hitter this week as the Rattlers went 4-0, beating Mercer and sweeping Alabama A&M. Smith batted 6-10, including four doubles, five RBIs, and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Smith also drew two walks to have an on-base percentage of .615. Smith reached home twice.

Smith was also the Rattlers' best pitcher this week, making two starts and winning both at Alabama A&M. Smith threw two complete games and one shutout with a 0.58 ERA. Smith struck out 15 batters and only allowed one run. Smith also had an opponent batting average of .146.
