TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --Junior Samantha Smith went 0-for-1 with an RBI for the Florida A&M Rattlers in a 9-2 loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Friday.

Smith (0-1) got the ball to start for Florida A&M (0-2) and took the loss. Junior Lauryn Peppers was a bright spot for the Rattlers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 2.1 shutout innings, allowing no hits, with one walk and two strikeouts.
