BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –– Zoryana Hughes was named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Pitcher of the Week after her performances in the HBCU Celebration Classic.
Hughes was a strikeout machine this weekend for the Rattlers, throwing nine strikeouts in 9.1 innings pitched. Hughes also led the Rattlers with a 1.50 ERA and a .129 opponent batting average. Hughes picked up the win in a complete game versus Southern and a save versus Alcorn State.
