BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Tre Simmons for SWAC Co-Pitcher of the Week and Jalen Niles for Co-Hitter of the Week for outstanding performances in the Rattlers opening weekend series against Eastern Illinois. 

Co-Pitcher of the Week

Simmons started and picked up the win for Florida A&M in the second game of the series against 2023 NCAA Regionals participant Eastern Illinois, going five shutout innings while giving up one hit, walking two, and striking out six. Simmons had an ERA of 0.00, WHIP of 0.60, and an opponents batting average of .063.

Co-Hitter of the Week

Niles led the Rattlers with five hits and a .417 batting average. Niles also had a .583 slugging percentage, two RBIs, and scored four runs in the series win versus 2023 NCAA Regional participants Eastern Illinois. Niles had a great opening day game, going 2-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.
