TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --The Florida A&M Rattlers had a tough showing on Tuesday, falling to the Troy Trojans by final score of 13-2.
Senior Raylan Wagner (0-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Florida A&M (2-2). Freshman Carson Kelly was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 1.2 shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking none and striking out two.
Junior Janmikell Bastardo led the way offensively for the Rattlers, going 2-for-3 in the ballgame with a triple.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rattlers were trailing 2-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Freshman Ben Kim came across to score the lone run of the inning for Florida A&M and get them on the board.
The Rattlers deficit grew to 9-1 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the third inning. Bastardo came across to score the lone run of the inning for Florida A&M, which brought the score to 9-2 in favor of the Trojans. The Rattlers were unable to get any closer, as Troy added four runs to their tally on the way to a 13-2 final.
