Rattlers Fall to Florida State 93-54 in Crosstown Matchup

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –– The Florida A&M women's basketball team struggled to find their footing against a powerful Florida State squad, falling 93-54 at the Donald L. Tucker Center on Monday night. The loss drops the Rattlers to 0-3 on the season.

FSU established control early, jumping out to a 25-12 first quarter lead, and never looked back. The Rattlers faced significant pressure throughout the game, committing 25 turnovers, which led to 26 FSU points.

Sydney Hendrix led the way for FAMU with 12 points and nine rebounds, showing persistence in the paint despite facing a tough FSU interior defense. Sabou Gueye added 9 points, while Cheyenne McEvans and Ivet Subirats each contributed 9 points.

The Rattlers showed glimpses of offensive efficiency, shooting 40.4% from the field and connecting on 81.3% of their free throws. However, they struggled to contain FSU's Ta'Niya Latson, who poured in 21 points, mainly from the free throw line, where she went 15-for-17.

FAMU's strongest period came in the fourth quarter, where they shot an impressive 75% from the field and scored 17 points. However, the deficit proved too large to overcome after FSU built a substantial lead in the first half.

The Rattlers will look to bounce back from this defeat and secure their first win of the season as they travel to play Jacksonville on Monday, November 18.
