HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE | FAMU's first 11 points were recorded on kills and Watts led the way with four. The thrilling back and forth set captured 15 ties, with the final one at 26-all. TSU controlled much of the second half, maintaining its lead until an attacking error gave the Rattlers a 27-26 advantage.
Farah Farooq and Sanford sealed the Rattlers' 23rd consecutive set win with a decisive block.
SET TWO | Things were tied at 6-6, before the Rattlers pulled away on a 5-2 run. Still, TSU remained within striking distance, eventually leading to another tie at 15-all. FAMU broke the stalemate with an 8-2 run – crowned by a kill from
Autumn Hamilton – and never looked back.
SET THREE | FAMU's rollercoaster start to the third set saw their early 5-0 advantage quickly shift into an 8-6 deficit, before turning around once more. The visitors concluded the set on a 10-2 run.
Next Up: The Rattlers will take a break from SWAC action for a mid-week match (Oct. 23) at North Florida. The two met earlier this season (Sept. 4), with FAMU winning 3-2.
