Rattlers Welcome Alabama State, Alabama A&M to Al Lawson

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The Florida A&M volleyball team's (10-5) next five matches will take place inside the Al Lawson Center. Alabama State and Alabama A&M will be the first to visit. Both matches will be streamed on Rattlers+.
 
Friday (Oct. 4)

Quick Notes The Last Outing 
The Rattlers went 2-0 in their SWAC-opening weekend to join Prairie View A&M and Alabama State as the lone undefeated teams after week one of conference play. FAMU posted a 3-2 win at Jackson State and a 3-0 win at Mississippi Valley State. 
  • Iyonnie Sanford recorded a season-high, match-high 22 kills versus JSU (the most recorded in a conference match this season)
  • Alexandra Koleva tallied a match-high 40 assists at Jackson State, which also ranks No. 1 in the SWAC in conference-only matches
  • Kaila Todd recorded a team-high seven blocks, four at JSU 
  • Three Rattlers finished in double-digit kills over the weekend: Sanford (29), Brooke Lynn Watts (29) and Farah Farooq (12)
  • Tinons Galmés contributed a team-high 31 digs, highlighted by 18 at  Jackson State

A Year Ago
  • Florida A&M reached the Southwestern Athletic Conference championship match for the third consecutive season but fell short of a three-peat, losing 3-0 to Jackson State.
  • The Rattlers finished the season with an 18-14 overall record and a 12-4 mark in SWAC play. Before facing JSU in the title match, they were riding an eight-match winning streak.
  • Brooke Hudson was honored as the SWAC Libero of the Year and earned First Team All-SWAC honors alongside Brooke Lynn Watts and Camila De La RosaIsis Williams and Iyonnie Sanford were named to the Second Team All-SWAC.
