Rattler VB Looks to Continue Its Impressive Run on the Road

 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The Florida A&M volleyball team (15-5, 7-0 SWAC) looks to continue its magical run at Prairie View A&M (9-13, 6-1 SWAC) and Texas Southern (5-14, 4-3). The teams currently sit second and fifth in Southwestern Athletic Conference standings.

  • With a conference record of 7-0, FAMU sits atop the SWAC standings as the only undefeated team.
  • The Rattlers are also unbeaten at home this season (9-0).
  • They've recorded 11 straight-set wins this year and earned their sixth straight in a 3-0 decision versus Alcorn State.
  • FAMU is also currently working an eight-match winning streak.
  • Gokhan Yilmaz recorded his 100th victory as head coach at Florida A&M in the 3-0 win at Alcorn. Over his seven-year coaching career, Yilmaz holds an overall record of 117-93, with a 100-76 record at FAMU.
  • Alexandra Koleva is the only athlete in the SWAC with 400 assists; she currently has a league-best 463 (7.12 assists per set).

The Rattlers have swept six straight conference opponents, most recently defeating Alcorn State (25-5, 25-11, 25-18).  Countdown to Career Milestones
  • Brookelynn Thomas has accumulated 940 career kills over her five-year career.
  • Brooke Lynn Watts has amassed 917 kills in three seasons at FAMU. Chaon Graham ranks 10th all-time on the Rattlers' career list with 945 kills.
  • Isis Williams has recorded 247 career blocks in four seasons with the Rattlers. Tiombe Jenkins ranks 10th all-time in the category with 266 blocks.
